Datum Technologies Group (formerly Datum Software) provides full-scale IT solutions to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. With a strong reputation in the tech space, they needed a website that matched their level of professionalism—secure, reliable, and built to perform.
The Challenge
In May 2021, Datum’s WordPress website was hit with malware. On top of that, their hosting setup wasn’t keeping up with their needs. They came to us looking for help cleaning things up and making sure their site was secure, stable, and ready for the future.
The Solution
We rolled up our sleeves and got to work. First, we ran a full malware scan and removed all the harmful code. Then we patched up vulnerabilities and tightened security across the board with updated WordPress settings and best practices.
Once the site was clean, we moved it to a more powerful and secure home: Amazon Web Services (AWS). We set up a custom cloud environment using tools like EC2 servers, security groups, virtual private cloud and elastic IPs to give them more control and better performance.
We also made sure everything came over smoothly:
- Migrated their full site, including the database, blog, and design
- Preserved all links and WordPress settings
- Managed caching, SSL certificates, and other key dependencies
On top of that, we improved the Careers page by refactoring the PHP code that connects to Bullhorn’s API. We added a filtering feature to make job listings easier to browse and faster to load.
The Results
With the site now secure and running on AWS, Datum saw a big improvement in performance and peace of mind. Their digital space was cleaner, faster, more reliable, and ready to support their growing business.
Where Are They Now
Datum Software has since rebranded to Datum Technologies Group, and their website continues to serve as a key part of their business. While we’re no longer managing the site, we’re proud to have helped them through a critical moment and set them up for long-term success.

This project is a great reminder that even when things go wrong, there’s always a way forward. With the right tools and a thoughtful approach, we helped Datum turn a tough situation into a stronger, more secure online presence.
